1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Notepad Online (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service.
2. Description of Service
Notepad Online is a free, browser-based rich text editor that allows you to create, format, and save text notes. Notes are stored locally in your browser's localStorage. The Service is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use.
3. Permitted Use
You may use Notepad Online to:
- Create, edit, format, and export personal or professional notes
- Export notes as PDF or plain text files
- Set reminders and alerts for your notes
- Back up and restore your notes using the backup feature
4. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Create or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- Use automated bots or scrapers to access or misuse the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service or its infrastructure
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law
5. Data Storage & Responsibility
All note data created in Notepad Online is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. We do not transmit, store, or have access to your note content on any server.
Important: Because notes are stored in browser localStorage, they may be lost if you:
- Clear your browser data or cookies
- Use a different browser or device
- Use private/incognito browsing mode
- Uninstall or reset your browser
We strongly recommend using the Backup Notes feature (File → Backup Notes) regularly to protect your work. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from browser clearing, device changes, or any other cause.
6. Intellectual Property
All content you create in Notepad Online remains your property. You retain full ownership of your notes and any work you produce using this Service.
The Notepad Online application, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of Notepad Online. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the application without prior written permission.
7. Advertising
The Service may display third-party advertisements through Google AdSense or similar networks. Advertisements are clearly separate from the editor content. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content
9. Limitation of Liability
