Install on iPhone / iPad (iOS)

Open Safari and go to notepadonlinepro.com (must use Safari — Chrome on iOS cannot install PWAs).

Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.

Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen".

Give it a name (or keep the default) and tap "Add" in the top-right corner.

The Notepad Online Pro icon now appears on your home screen. Tap it to open in full-screen mode.

The Share icon looks like ⬆ (box with arrow) — tap it at the bottom center of Safari.

Install on Android (Chrome)

Open Chrome and visit notepadonlinepro.com.

Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.

Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" (wording varies by Android version).

Confirm by tapping "Add" or "Install" in the dialog that appears.

The app icon is added to your home screen and app drawer. It opens in standalone mode — no browser chrome.

On newer Android versions, Chrome shows an "Install app" banner automatically at the bottom of the screen — just tap it.

Install on Desktop (Chrome / Edge)

Open Chrome or Edge and go to notepadonlinepro.com.

Look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar on the right side.

Click it and then click "Install" in the prompt.

The app opens in its own window — no tabs, no address bar, just the editor.

Mobile Usage Tips

Create a new note

Tap the sidebar icon (top-left logo) to open the sidebar, then tap "+ Create new".

Rename a note

Tap the note title at the bottom status bar (it has a pencil icon on mobile) to edit it inline.

Share a note

Tap the Share button in the top-right of the menu bar to generate a shareable link.

Access the full toolbar

The formatting toolbar scrolls horizontally — swipe left on it to reach alignment, lists, and more.

Access all menus

The menu bar (File, Edit, Insert…) also scrolls horizontally on narrow screens — swipe it left.

Export a note

Open the File menu → "Save as PDF" for a formatted PDF, or "Save txt" for plain text.

Use offline

Once the app has loaded, you can keep writing offline. Notes save to your browser automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything to install?▾

No. Notepad Online Pro is completely free — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account required.

Will my notes sync between my phone and computer?▾

Notes are stored locally in each browser. To move notes between devices, use File → Backup Notes to download a ZIP, then File → Restore Backup on the other device.

Does it work without internet after installing?▾

Yes. Once the page has loaded at least once, the editor continues to work offline. All notes are saved in your browser's local storage.

I don't see "Add to Home Screen" on iOS. What's wrong?▾

This option only appears in Safari on iOS. If you're using Chrome, Firefox, or another browser on iPhone/iPad, switch to Safari and try again.

How do I uninstall the app?▾

On iOS: long-press the icon and tap "Remove App". On Android: long-press the icon and drag to "Uninstall" or tap "Remove". Your notes remain safe in your browser.
